those are pretty good numbers for a car that has a 300hp/300tq rating, either the drivetrain is really efficient or the car is under rated on power

They aren't underrated because of insurace, those days are over. As it turns out, many vehicles on the market today suffer much less drivetrain loss than before. This is due to tighter tollerances and better materials that a manufacturer is afforded to use. Also, every dyno and every vehicle is different, so in this case, either the dyno could be generous, the car could have been built on a wednesday, or both.

the bmw factory dose hundreds of runs on theyre engines and they show the lowest hp reading they get from the engine so if you test yours in a better temerature you may get more hp that what the book shows

What is that in terms of horsepower and torque at the flywheel. Is it actually 300 like they say. I heard they have been churning out around 320 hp.
