One thing I don't like about fifth gear car comparisons is that there is a big difference in the driver's skills. In top gear for example the Stig does all the power lap times so the car is the only variable.

But in Top Gear, the Stig is more than one person in costume. Perry McCarthy has been one Stig (like Tiff, a professional racer, but reached higher in his career), but I'm sure he comes into scheduling conflicts.

Well you do have a point 'cause there's no way to know for sure who's in the costume but whoever it is he's a damn good driver. My point is that they always try to get the most out of any car. And I can't say that for fifth gear 'cause they have too many different drivers and it's unlikely that their driving skills are all the same.
